Press release from the Arcata Police Department:

On Saturday May 11, 2019, at 2:00pm, the Arcata Police Department responded to the 2600 block of Alliance Road for multiple reports of gunshots fired from a white SUV.  Witnesses also described a blue Toyota Rav4 fleeing the scene, occupied by four black male adults.  The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office located the Rav4 traveling northbound on Highway 101 and a vehicle pursuit ensued.  The pursuit terminated near the Westhaven Drive off-ramp, when the vehicle traveled over an embankment and crashed.  Four black male adults fled on foot from the vehicle and were apprehended shortly thereafter. 

One of two victims was located, traveling on foot, in the 2200 block of Alliance Road.  Officers learned a robbery had just occurred, during a marijuana transaction, inside of a white Volvo SUV.  The gunshots were determined to have been fired inside of the SUV, with no one struck or injured as a result.  The owner of the SUV fled and was not located. 

The following suspects were booked and lodged at the Humboldt County Correctional Facility, on the following charges:
