The Arcata Tigers have been waiting a long time to return to the North Coast Section playoffs in softball, and now they’ll have to wait a little longer.
The Tigers were scheduled to open the Division-IV bracket at home to Berean Christian on Wednesday evening, but the game has been put back to Friday due to the weather.
The Tigers, who are enjoying a breakthrough season with their most wins in a single campaign in at least 15 years, which is as far back as MaxPreps records go, are 16-9 and seeded sixth in the Division-IV playoff bracket.
They have not played in the NCS postseason since 2012.
Berean Christian is 3-16 on the season and the winner of Friday’s game will advance to play No. 3 Cardinal Newman in the quarterfinals.
