Inga (Schulz) Passarini was born in Germany February 24, 1947, and moved with her family to the United States when she was seven years old. As a young child she helped in her parents bakery, Berolina, in Glendale, California. In college she studied art and especially loved acrylic painting. She became a hair stylist and for the majority of her life spent her days making people beautiful. She was very talented especially when it came to haircolor. Throughout her 45+ years as a hair stylist, she was a color educator for Sebastian, Goldwell, and L’Oreal. She loved hair color so much that one of her first educational models was her eight-year-old daughter, Jamie. When she opened her own hair salon in Eureka, she named it Berolina, after her parents bakery. She had many co-workers while running the salon, most of them became best friends and many were family to Inge. Inge sold the shop and Berolina’s is still currently open and doing business to this day.

Inge and Larry were married Oct 4, 1969. They spent many years living overseas while Larry was in the Air Force. After several miscarriages, Jamie was born in 1977 and Kristie followed in 1980. In 1978, they moved from Southern California to Eureka where they built a home on Humboldt Hill. They were married for 32 years before divorcing.

She loved gardening and became a Humboldt County Master Gardener.

She was extremely silly and laughed a lot. She loved to dance and Jamie and Kristie have many wonderful memories of dancing in the living room as kids and dancing out on the town with her as adults.

She loved her animals and adopted all of the neighborhood cats. Her daughters joked with her that she was THE crazy cat lady.

Inge passed away January 23, 2019, in Eureka at the Humboldt Hospice House surrounded by her family. We would like to thank everyone at Hospice that showed so much love and compassion. We are ever grateful to you!

Inge was preceded in death by her parents Kriemhild and Karl Schulz, and her sister Ursel Richardson. She is survived by her daughters Jamie (Scott) Hindley, Kristie (Lawrence) Passarini, her grandchildren Dylan Gurney, Olivia Hindley, Michael “Deuce” Hindley, Zac Hindley, and unborn Aspen Passarini-Sowell, sister Barb Pullar and fiancé Harold Lehto.

Please join us while we celebrate Inge’s beautiful, fun-loving life at 4 p.m. on June 2 at the Humboldt Lath House (aka flower house) at the Humboldt County Fairgrounds in Ferndale. Please bring stories to share and your dancing shoes.
