As firefighters were battling the mobile home blaze on Jacobs Avenue this afternoon, another call came in — smoke was seen emanating from a two-story stucco residence on Henderson Street, just across from Pacific View Charter School.
The location is an abandoned, boarded-up home that has been the locus of law enforcement activity for several months. (See links above.)
One lane of Henderson is closed while firefighters attack the blaze. Arcata Fire District engines, which responded to Eureka to cover the city when the Jacobs Avenue fire broke out, are in command of firefighting activities on Henderson.
We’ll update when we know more.
