No one in the H-DNL finishes as well as Eureka’s Klayre Barres.

On Wednesday night, the junior striker netted the equalizing goal against Arcata after a wonderful deep pass from teammate Keylei Carroll with just five minutes remaining in their NCS playoff game.

Barres slotted past the onrushing keeper with composure and precision after beating out the defender on her way to goal.

Both Eureka players were instrumental in leading the Loggers back into the game, turning in an outstanding second half performance, as did fellow junior Aquene Tollefson.

The late goal sent the game into overtime, where the Loggers would eventually lose 2-1 on a brilliant Bailey Cherms strike seven minutes in.

That, however, doesn’t take from what was a fantastic season for the three Eureka playmakers, who should be back again next year ready to challenge for a league and section title.
