Ray Hamill/HumboldtSports.com – The Crusaders will play Middletown on Saturday at 1 p.m.

The St. Bernard’s family is getting in the holiday spirit.

During this Saturday’s NCS home playoff football game against Middletown, the Crusaders will be collecting canned food, warm coats and socks as part of Senator McGuire’s Humboldt Holiday Food Drive.

According to a press release from the school, the SB students, families and friends are the reigning two-time Golden Can winner for bringing in over 11,000 pounds of food.

A Crusader t-shirt will be given to anyone bringing a donation of 10 cans, a coat or three pairs of socks, while stocks last.

Game time is scheduled for 1 p.m., and donations will be accepted from noon to 5 p.m.

Donations can also be brought to the school from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, at 222 Dollison Street, Eureka.

The Crusaders are not alone in their fundraising efforts.

The H-DNL Student Athlete Advisory Committee is hosting a Winter Clothes Drive throughout both counties through December 20.
