The Eureka girls fell 49-45 in basketball at Pinole Valley on Saturday afternoon, dropping to 1-1 on the young season.

Malia Guilbert continued her strong start to the new season and led the Loggers with 18 points and 10 rebounds.

Sophia Chalmers also continued to impress for the second straight day, finishing with 12 points, while Carly Boynton added six points.

The Loggers opened the season with back-to-back road games against Division-III opponents.

On Friday, they comfortably got the better of Hercules 75-45.

On Tuesday they will host Hoopa Valley.
