Loretta Ruby Linton
May 3, 1920-2019

Loretta slipped away peacefully on the morning of October 29, 2019 surrounded by family members who laughed, cried, and shared many stories in the preceding days. She was a youthful 99.5 years old. She was a resident of Humboldt County since 1943 where she worked for the Eureka City Schools for 27 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon, to whom she was married for 62.5 years, daughter LeaEtt Wright, and three weeks prior by her twin sister, Lorraine Johnson. She is survived by her daughter Ruth Davy, granddaughters Karmen Davy, Jennifer Underhill, and Erika Wright, great-grandchildren Kelsey Davy, Jaycie Davy, Britnee Davy, Hannah Underhill, and Hayden Underhill, as well as great-great grandchildren.

A private graveside service will be held at Ocean View Cemetery with Pastor David Groe officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Loretta’s name to Immanuel Lutheran Church at 3230 Harrison Avenue, Eureka, CA 95501 or Sequoia Humane Society at 6073 Loma Avenue, Eureka, CA 95503.
