On November 7, 2019, at about 10:38 a.m., a Humboldt County Sheriff’s deputy conducted a routine traffic stop for a vehicle code violation near the 100 block of Bigfoot Avenue in Willow Creek.

Upon investigation, the deputy learned that the driver, 48-year-old Danny Trow Marcelli of Weaverville, was driving on an expired license. The deputy requested Marcelli exit the vehicle. While Marcelli exited the vehicle, the deputy observed a plastic bag of methamphetamine fall near the driver’s seat.

During a search of Marcelli, the deputy located another bag of methamphetamine. In total, Marcelli was found to be in possession of approximately 30 grams of methamphetamine, in addition to materials consistent with drug sales.

Marcelli was arrested and booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility on charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance for sales, transportation of a controlled substance, driving without a license and driving without insurance.
