Marylou Thayer Fisher, was born June 15, 1940 passed away Sept. 28, 2019 at Hospice House in Eureka. She was lovingly surrounded by her family at that time.

She was preceded by her father Richard Carvel Thayer, mother Mary Wiitala, and sister Marlene Vance.

While growing up, she loved camping with her family and also would attend Triumphant Life Camp. TLC is where she heard about Jesus Christ dying for her sins and accepted him as her savior.

After graduating from high school, she met a young college student named Doug, whom she married in 1958. They raised three wonderful godly children — Calvin Bryant, Candace Lynn, and Corey Douglas. She is survived by all four of them, as well as grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

She loved mountain biking, hiking, gardening, shopping, traveling, and RVing with the Good Sam Club.

Although she never smoked, she was diagnosed with Stage 4 metastatic lung cancer in 2006. She was told that she had eight months to two years life expectancy. But because of God’s grace, doctors, medicine and answered prayers, she was given 13-plus more years on this earth.

She fought a good fight and kept her faith to the very end. But the end is actually the beginning of a New and Glorious Life.

A memorial service will be held Oct. 26 at 3 p.m. at the Hydesville Community Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hydesville Community Church or Triumphant Life Camp. Thank you.
