Press release from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office:

On 10-23-2019, at about 7:00 AM, the Sheriff’s Office conducted follow up on a previous report of a missing person near the 3000 block of Sawmill Rd. in Garberville.

Deputies from the Special Services Division, Criminal Investigations Division, and members of the Sheriff’s Search and Rescue Posse responded to the area of Sawmill Rd. in Garberville to conduct a search for the missing person. It had previously been reported that a male subject had left the residence on foot and had not returned.

While conducting a search of the area, Deputies located the male subject who was deceased.  

The investigation is ongoing.  Further information may be released as the investigation progresses.
