The Arcata Tigers are Big 5 champions in volleyball.

On Thursday night, they capped a memorable Big 5 campaign at McKinleyville with a four-sets win over their closest rivals.

The Tigers won 25-22, 25-15, 21-25, 25-19, closing out league play with a record of 8-0 (22-7 overall).

The third set was the only one they dropped in all eight league games.

The win also guarantees the Tigers an automatic North Coast Section playoff berth and a home game.

The Panthers close out league play with a 6-2 record (16-6 overall).

Hailee Henry had a big night for the Panthers, finishing with 12 kills, nine blocks and a pair of aces, while teammate Rian Heenan had 10 kills and six blocks.

Lexi White also had a big night with 34 assists and 12 digs, while Cameron Heenan added eight kills and 12 digs.

For Arcata, Maya Mircetich continued her impressive season with 20 kills, while teammate Avery Thornburgh had 10 kills and four blocks, and Bella Peterman had eight kills and three blocks.

Also enjoying a big night for the visitors, Lola Renteria finished with 38 assists and 10 digs, while Lilli Bowman had 15 digs and Maddie Williams six digs and a pair of aces.
