The Arcata Tigers remain undefeated in the Big 5 after a straight sets win at home to Del Norte in volleyball on Thursday night.

The Tigers, who improved to 4-0 at the halfway stage of conference play, won 25-16, 25-13, 25-19.

Maya Mircetich led the way in the win with 10 kills and three aces, while Ella Day had six kills and Emma Sayre seven service points and three aces.

Also enjoying a productive night for Arcata, Lola Renteria had 22 assists and eight digs, while Lilli Bowman finished with 15 digs.

The McKinleyville Panthers were also in action on Thursday, winning in straight sets at Eureka, 25-12, 25-12, 25-18, and improving to 3-1 in league play (13-5 overall).

Eureka dropped to 0-4 in the Big 5.

Cameron Heenan led the way for the Panthers with 10 kills, 10 digs and four aces, while older sister Rian Heenan finished with seven kills, eight digs and five blocks.

McKinleyville’s Lexi White also had a big game with 29 assists, 12 digs and three aces, while teammate Hailee Henry continued her impressive season with five kills, three blocks and a pair of aces.
