McKinleyville junior Isabella Sundberg had her best round of the season at the Eureka Municipal Golf Course on Thursday, shooting an 86 to pace the field in the latest round of H-DNL girls golf.
Sundberg got the better of league leader Avary Henry of Arcata and her older sister, Mack senior Phoebe Sundberg, who between them have led the field in all four previous rounds this season.
Henry had the second best round of the day on Thursday, shooting an 89 and stretching her lead at the top of the season standings to 13.
Phoebe Sundberg was third best on the day with a 97 and remains second in the season standings, 14 strokes better than her younger sister in third.
Once again the Tigers showcased their depth with another comfortable team win, with Arcata teammates Kate Plumley and Brooke Bisgrove shooting a 98 and tying for the fourth best score of the day.
The Tigers lead the season team standings by a sizable 255 strokes.
For Plumley, the round tied her previous best of the season, while for Bisgrove it was a season best.
Eureka’s Marissa Highley was sixth on the day with a 108, followed by Arcata’s Mari Pepper who shot a 113.
Arcata’s Lexi Avila shot a 121, with Gracie Betts next best and pacing the Huskies with a 122.
The H-DNL plays at Fortuna on Monday.
