College of the Redwoods football lost 35-17 to DeAnza at the Redwood Bowl on Saturday, dropping to 1-4.

After three straight games that went down to the wire, this one wasn’t as close, as the visitors overcame an 11-7 first-quarter deficit, outscoring the home team 28-6 the remainder of the way.

CR teams fall to Butte

The Corsairs will be glad to see the back of Butte.

On Friday, the Roadrunners got the better of College of the Redwoods in men’s soccer and volleyball, while the two schools tied 2-2 in women’s soccer.

The CR women are now 0-0-2 in the Golden Valley Conference and 4-2-2 overall.

The loss was the third straight for the CR men’s soccer team, which dropped to 0-2 in conference and 3-6-1 overall

In volleyball, the Corsairs hosted a high-ranked Butte team in their conference and home opener.

CR pushed the Roadrunners early, before eventually losing 25-27, 21-25, 15-25.

Kaylin Campbell continued to impress for the CR women, finishing with a team-high eight kills, while teammate Ashlyn Maddeoux had 16 digs and four kills.

Lexi Goodman, Alondra Ledezma, Ariana Gallegos and Paula Mello each had two aces
