Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office press release:

On 09-01-19 at 0924 hours, Humboldt County Sheriff Deputies responded to the area of Salmon Creek in Miranda for a report of a robbery with gunshots fired.

During the investigation, witnesses provided a description of the suspects and vehicle involved. Officers from the California Highway Patrol located a vehicle matching that description at the Shell Gas Station 860 Redwood Drive in Garberville. With the assistance of deputies, 37-year-old Melvin Mack and 29-year-old John Forrester were taken into custody without incident.

An additional suspect, 25-year-old Pedro Sanchez was located in Weott and detained by officers from the California State Parks and Cal-Fire. All three subjects were transported to the Humboldt County Correctional Facility.

Melvin Mack has been booked for Robbery, Conspiracy, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, and Felon in Possession of Ammunition.

John Forrester has been booked for Robbery, Conspiracy, and Assault w/ a Deadly Weapon. Pedro Sanchez has been booked for Robbery, Conspiracy, and Destroying Evidence. This investigation is ongoing.
