Members of the Arcata Police Department, Arcata Fire District and other community members made a trip up to Humboldt State University Wednesday morning to commemorate the 18 years that have passed since the September 11 attacks in New York City.

Once on campus, attendees scaled 110 flights of stairs, the same number climbed by many of the first responders who valiantly attempted to rescue those trapped in the World Trade Center’s twin towers.
