Derrick Aaron Rocha left this world unexpectedly, surrounded by loved ones on August 25, 2019.

He was born on April 9, 1969 to Diana K. Rocha (Bryant) and the late Alfred M. Rocha in Eureka. Derrick graduated from Eureka Senior High School in 1987. He was well known in the community for his hard work and helping hand. He was an avid outdoorsman, hunter and fisher. His competitive personality led him to playing basketball and softball up until his late forties. Above all, he loved golfing with his son and friends every Wednesday night for league. He had an incredibly deep love for his family and friends.

In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his grandparents John and Eva Rocha and June and William Bryant. He leaves behind his mother, Diana K. Rocha; wife Diana L. Rocha; son Taylor Rocha; daughter Devin Rocha; grandson Mason Robinette; brother Wade Rocha; nieces Hailey and Paige Rocha and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

A celebration of life will be held at the Sequoia Conference Center on Sunday, September 8, 2019 at 2 p.m. On behalf of Derrick’s family, we would like to thank the first responders, St. Joseph Hospital, Eureka Municipal Golf Course and the Humboldt County Office of Education for their contributions as well as family, friends and community members for the outpouring love and support received.
