Isaac Deforest Wilson — aka “Swifty” — was called by creator to his eternal dance place on April 13, 2020 at his parent’s house in Hoopa. He was a graduate of Hoopa High and still remained close to many of his childhood friends. Isaac was also employed at the Hoopa Mini Mart for many years and once again became friends with so many as he enjoyed talking to everyone who came in.

Isaac was born in the Hoopa Valley on March 29, 1978 and was a proud member of the Hoopa Valley Tribe. He was proceeded in death by his grandparents Benny and Donna Spencer, Carl Wilson Sr and Mary Charles, Uncle Marvin Spencer, Uncle William “Bill” Wilson, Aunt Berdine, Uncle Arthur Lewis Sr., Uncle Carl Spencer, Aunt Alberta Wilson, and his beloved brother Micheal Wilson. Isaac is survived by his parents Carl Wilson and Karen Spencer, siblings Lonnie, Kim, and Crystal. Uncle Robert and Aunt Susie Wilson, Uncle Marvin Spencer, Aunt Ina Wilson, Aunt Carol Wilson, Aunt Jeanine Spencer, Aunt Peggy Spencer, and Uncle Benjamin Spencer. Isaac was a proud father and his children were the love of his life, Cautiposhon, Isaac II, Andrew, Ralph, Tenaya, Thomas, Jason, and Frankie, as well as his grandsons Brandon and Brayden. He also was a proud uncle to Ki’Ge:ch, Lonnie II, Jennifer, Ruben, Ka-muh, his partner Jerome and Jacqueline as well as many numerous friends and cousins too many to list, as there were so many close to his heart.

Isaac participated in many brush dance ceremonies and was always eager to dance. Isaac enjoyed spending time with his dad, Uncle Robert and family eeling, camping and so many other adventures over the years. Isaac had a smile that could light up a room and a laugh that was contagious. He loved sitting by a warm fire, with some great music, surrounded by friends and family with an ice-cold Bud Light or Diet Coke. He enjoyed each and every moment he spent with his children, playing basketball outside, swimming in the river and watching them as they played on his phone.

There will be a viewing Friday April 17, starting at 5:30 p.m. at the Wilson Family home on Tish Tang. Graveside services will be Saturday April 18, 1 p.m., Wilson Family Cemetery on Tish Tang Road.
