Emily Whitcomb, a paramedic with the Arcata-Mad River Ambulance service, was featured on the Today after her mom posted a photo of her giving the thumbs up on Instagram.

“My courageous 30 yr old daughter Emily Whitcomb, a paramedic working 72 hour shifts every week in Humboldt County, California,” the post reads.


Today Show host Craig Melvin, highlighted Emily alongside a UPS driver in New Jersey and a cell phone tower maintenance operator from Colorado. 

“Emily, thank you,” Melvin said.
