Take this with a grain of salt, of course, but the California Independent System Operator (CAISO), the nonprofit that runs the electric grid for most of the state, says we’ll likely be spared from rolling blackouts tonight. 

The organization posted on social media earlier this afternoon, announcing that energy conservation and imported electricity may have saved us:

Over the past week, Pacific Gas & Electric has been warning customers about rolling outages as a record-breaking heat wave has swept the state, causing energy consumption to spike.
