On August 22, 2020, at about 2:43 p.m., Humboldt County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the area of Alderpoint Road and Redwood Drive for the report of a possible stabbing victim.
Deputies arrived in the area and located an adult male victim with non-life-threatening injuries to his face and hand. The victim declined medical treatment for his injuries.
Upon further investigation, deputies learned that the victim and the suspect, 32-year-old Ruby Jean Tyldsley, were known to each other and had become involved an argument. At some point during the altercation, Tyldsley reportedly struck the victim with an object and then with a knife.
Tyldsley was located at the scene. She was arrested and booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility on charges of assault with a deadly weapon (PC 245(a)(1)) and inflicting corporal injury on a spouse (PC 273.5(a)), in addition to a misdemeanor arrest warrant.
