PREVIOUSLY: Two Suffer Major Injuries in Single-Vehicle Ferndale Traffic Collision

California Highway Patrol press release: 

On 08/27/2020, just before 7 PM, the Humboldt Area CHP responded to a collision on Bluff Street, just west of Grizzly Bluff Rd., in Ferndale. Upon CHP arrival it was determined that a 2005 Cadillac sedan, driven by 39 year old Joshua Hindley of Ferndale, had been traveling eastbound on Bluff Street at a high rate of speed when the vehicle left the roadway and the passenger side of the Cadillac collided with a tree.

Mr. Hindley, who was not wearing his seatbelt, suffered major injuries as a result of the collision. His passenger, 39 year old Douglas Edgmon of Fortuna, was wearing a seatbelt but also suffered major injuries as a result of the collision. Emergency personnel responded to the scene and subsequently transported both parties to St. Joseph’s

Hospital for treatment of their injuries. 

It is not known if alcohol and/or drugs were a factor in this collision.
