Tauryn Jayme Patton Jones passed away in her sleep at home in McKinleyville on Feb. 1, 2020. She was 38 years old.

Tauryn was born in Eureka on Aug. 7, 1981, to Jay and Sally Patton. When she was 5, we moved to McKinleyville, where she attended Morris Elementary and McKinleyville High School. She was hired to work at Scandals as a Nail Technician before she even graduated from Frederick and Charles Beauty College. She also worked at Coast Central Credit Union and Northern Redwood Federal Credit Union,. But her most beloved role was that of a homemaker, wife and mother. Her family was her life and breath.

Tauryn met the love of her live and soulmate, Christopher Jones, in 1998, and they married in July 2006. Tauryn was a devoted wife and loving mother to their daughters, Kylieann (born in 2001) , Kassidymae (born in 2005) and Kharity Alexandria (born in 2014). She was a consummate homemaker, always striving to make her home a place of love and beauty for her family. Even as a little girl, Tauryn was a fashion statement, rarely leaving her home without looking her best – a perfectionist of beauty. She was a thoughtful and kind soul, always thinking of others before herself. She loved her family with all of her heart, always striving to help and comfort them before doing for herself.

Tauryn is survived by her husband, Chris; her daughters Kylieann and Kassidymae; her parents, Jay and Sally Patton; her brother, Jason (Rachel); her niece, Jadyn (George); and nephew Johnathon. She was predeceased by her daughter Kharity; her grandparents, Johnny Ray and Dorothy Patton; and Harold and Florence Herscher.

She was a bright star to us all who knew her.
