Heaven has gained another angel. Janice Kay Kaufman passed away on Feb. 3 at St. Joseph Hospital in Eureka.

Janice was born in Eureka on Oct. 12, 1951, the daughter of NoraLee Atkins and Hubert Carter, both from Arkansas. Jan was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, wife and friend to many. She worked hard as a waitress and loved it. She had met lots of people that became great friends and some even like family. She will always hold a special place in our hearts.

Janice was preceded in death by her loving husband of 43 years, David Curtis Kaufman.

She is survived by two children, Richard Villalores and his wife, Melissa Villalores, and Cliff Kaufman. Grandchildren: Raina & Tommy Uber, Kayla Villalores & Danny Rockholt Jr., Natalie and Nathan Villalores and Raylan Kaufman. She also had five great grandchildren — Kaylie, Tommy and Ricky Uber, Danny, and soon to arrive Azayleah Rockholt.

She will always be missed and loved by so many.

A gathering will be held at 802 Alpha Ave. in Eureka on Feb. 29 at 3 p.m. We will be doing a little potluck. If you would like to bring a dish or just yourself that would be amazing.
