Multi-Agency SWAT Team Called to West Side Eureka to Arrest Man Wanted on Weapons, Drugs Charges

On February 24, 2020 at about 4:05 p.m., an officer with the Eureka Police Department
located a vehicle associated with wanted person Kevin Haberman parked to the rear of an
apartment in the 600 block of W. Hawthorne Street. Haberman (41 of Eureka) was
wanted by the Humboldt County Drug Task Force (DTF) and had an active warrant for
weapons and drugs.

While the officer investigated the associated vehicle, a window to the apartment was
shut. The investigation quickly revealed that Haberman was inside. Additional units
responded and a perimeter was set up. Based on the circumstances of the warrant, EPD
requested assistance from the Humboldt County Multi-Agency SWAT team.
Upon the arrival and deployment of SWAT members, Haberman was ordered out of the
residence. He complied and was taken into custody without further incident. Haberman
was transported and booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility (HCCF) on
the existing warrant stemming from the DTF investigation.
