Born December 23, 1931 and passed away peacefully at her home on September 1, 2019.

Betty was born in Pittsburg, Kansas, where she spent most of her childhood. Her family moved to Oakland when she was 14. Betty graduated from Fremont High School and soon there after met and married Vernon Sanderson.

After the birth of their two children they moved their family to Eureka. Betty retired from Pay Less Drug Store taking with her many friends who always had special lunches together for many years, better known as “The Lunch Bunch.” She was a huge San Francisco Giants fan and followed her grandchildren’s sports, never missing a soccer match, baseball or basketball game or a track meet.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Vernon Sanderson, her father Merle Faucett, mother and stepfather Viola and John Schindler, mother and father-in-law Vernon and Dagny Sanderson, and brother-in-law Daniel Sanderson. Betty leaves behind her son Robert Sanderson (Laura Martin), Timnath, Co, daughter Cindy and son-in-law Ron Harpham of Eureka, grandson Brett Harpham of Bend, Oregon, granddaughter Lindsey Harpham of Napa, great-grandsons Remmy, Boone and Maverick Harpham. Betty is also survived by her sister-in-law LaVerne Tally and sister-in-law Karen Sanderson. She leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who she loved to gather with on special occasions.

A private graveside service was held where Betty who joined her husband in the Veterans’ Garden at Ocean View Cemetery.
