Adrian Anthony Troyna Ceniseroz was born Sept. 18, 1966 in Los Angeles to a family with ten children. He passed away suddenly on January 21, 2020 of a heart attack. His heart was just too big and full of love to keep going any longer. He was with his wife and best friend Yvette and her parents at the time of his passing.
In his younger years, he was a regular on “Dance Party USA,” and was all about the music scene. He played guitar, piano and sang — all straight from his soul. Much to his dismay, his Mama made him learn to play the accordion first. He was a voracious learner, always reading up on current and historical findings.
Once he met his wife, Yvette, he fell in love with not only her but the kind, gentle lifestyle of Humboldt County. He strived to make people happy, and the small town feel of the North Coast was the perfect place to do it. He loved little more than to chat it up with passersby at his home on Main Street in Ferndale, which lovingly earned him the nickname “Chatty Cathy.” He had seven years of joy here in Humboldt, spent enjoying the gorgeous outdoors, kind, friendly community and delicious restaurants.
He quickly earned the label “Spicy Chef” of Sweet Basil Catering, the business he and Yvette shared. Adrian brought delicious, authentic Mexican food to Humboldt, a thousand tacos at a time. His kind and caring personality, along with his constant willingness to offer a helping hand and fun sense of humor will be sorely missed. Together, he and his wife Yvette touched so many hearts in our small community, all the way down to his lifelong friends in Los Angeles and loyal family throughout the country. His infectious smile and boisterous personality will forever be missed.
Please join us for a celebration of life on February 11 at 619 Main St in Ferndale between 1 and 4 p.m. In keeping with his family traditions, it will be an open house held at their family business. We would love if you brought your favorite dish with you, as Adrian loved to try new foods that were special to people.
