Betty
A. Dailey
Jan. 1, 1925 – Dec. 4, 2019
Betty was born in Hanford, Calif., to William and Charlotte Lynd. She was raised in Visalia, Calif., with her seven brothers and sisters. Betty married the love of her life Merle on Nov. 21, 1942 and together they raised three sons, Thomas, Gerald and Donald. Grandpa, Grandma, and Don made their home in Benbow on Oct. 31, 1970 when Grandpa transferred for the Highway Patrol later opening, and running Garberville Liquors together. Betty and Merle also raised their three granddaughters Melissa, Shauna, and Leslie. Betty has six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren with another due in April. Grandma never hesitated opening her home to a kid in need and made everyone feel loved. She was Grandma to so many.
Betty was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend to everyone she met. She loved her family and always had a smile for everyone she met. She loved her family and doted on Grandpa. Don would like to say a special thank-you to everyone at Applebee’s for being so kind to Grandma and to the emergency personnel and staff at Jerold Phelps Community Hospital and Clinic for all their extra care.
Betty was preceded in death by her loving husband Merle, her sons Thomas and Gerald, her parents William and Charlotte, Merle’s parents Harry and Inez, Merle’s brother Verne, and her siblings Ralph, Ruthie, Paul, Dorothy, John, Lorraine, and Peg. She is survived by her son Donald, her daughter-in-law Ann, Melissa (Joe), Tom, Shauna (Marc), Leslie (Brian), Tamara (Joel), Jeremy, her great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
