Drug Task Force Finds Two Pounds of Meth, Scales, Etc. on Eureka Man After Weeks-Long Investigation

Moreno.
On January 30th,
2020, at approximately 3:30 p.m., special agents with the Humboldt
County Drug Task Force (HCDTF) served a search warrant at a residence
located in the 800 block Sea Avenue, Eureka. During their multi-week
investigation agents received information the resident, Ramon
Leonicio Moreno-Munguia (age
31), is selling methamphetamine throughout Humboldt County.
Moreno-Munguia is a local probationer for narcotics violations.
Agents
detained Moreno-Munguia in a vehicle a short distance from his home.
During a search of Moreno-Munguia’s residence, agents located
nearly two pounds of suspected methamphetamine packaged for sales.
Agents also located digital scales and other items often associated
with narcotics sales. In addition, agents seized nearly $3,000 in
U.S. currency that is believed to be the proceeds of narcotics sales.
This currency will be held pending future asset forfeiture
proceedings.
Moreno-Munguia
was subsequently placed under arrest and booked into the Humboldt
County Correctional Facility for transportation and possession of
controlled substances for sales and violation of probation.
