Riley was born on July 11,1973 in El Cajon. He died unexpectedly on March 7, 2020 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Eureka from a pulmonary embolism. He was 46 years old. He was preceded in death by his sister Cassie Twiss, his uncle Jeff, grandparents Jim and Rosemary Williams of Fortuna, his cousin Delsa, one of his very best friends, Tish, and another good friend, Eric. He survived by his mother Susanne Brown and stepfather Donald Brown, both of Fortuna.

He had a core group of friends that he loved and grew up with since the age of 14. They remained friends until his passing: Todd, Trina, Jen, Jamie and Rachael, Cindy, Dennis, Rusty and Alex. He also came to be friends with Wallace later in life. When he moved to Oregon he made some great friends there that he kept in touch with even after he moved back to California. They were Chuck, Charles and Arianna.

I would like to take this opportunity to Thank Fred and Peter from Medford Pawn for all the kindness you showed Riley. Fred, we talked often about you and he respected you as a father figure. I know he was not an easy employee but he loved you both. Thank you, Fred and Paul Grundman from Grundman’s Sporting Goods in Rio Dell for the kindness, patience and many chances you gave him. He cared for you both a great deal! Thank you, Dan and Reggie for your kindness and all the opportunities you gave him. Thanks to Matt, Matt’s Fiancé and Jamie. I will never forget the kindness you showed him.

I fell in love with him the moment they put him in my arms and I loved him unconditionally until he was called home. But life had become very difficult for Riley in the last year of his life, especially the last few months. Thank you to all of those who loved him and helped him. His friends have told me he had the biggest, kindest heart and would always be a lifelong friend. Thank you, God, my life was better for having him in it! Riley, I loved you then, I love you now and I will always love you. Until we meet again honey, peace be with you and your Sister, your suffering is over.

With ALL my Love, Bub (Mom).
