From the California Highway Patrol:
On 07-19-2020, just before noon, the CHP Humboldt Communications Center was notified of a solo motorcycle crash on northbound US-101 just north of Jordan Road. A preliminary investigation by Officers determined that 70 year old Michael Tulley of Eureka, for unknown reasons, was unable to maintain control of the motorcycle and was ejected, suffering major injuries. There were no other vehicles or persons involved in the crash.
Mr. Tulley was conscious and alert at the scene, and was subsequently transported by emergency medical personnel to St. Joseph Hospital for treatment of his injuries. However, CHP Officers later responded to St. Joseph’s Hospital for follow-up with Mr. Tulley and were notified that he had passed away as a result of his injuries.
Alcohol and/or drugs are not considered to have been a factor in this collision.
