Carol Ann Wilson
Feb 5, 1960 - July 19, 2020

On July 19, 2020 Carol Wilson entered into rest and joined her Maker while she was surrounded by her family. Carol succumbed to breast cancer after a short battle of four months. All who knew her know she fought the battle as she fought all others — with her all, and to win.

Carol was born on February 5, 1960 to Carl Wilson Sr. and Mary Charles in Eureka. She was the youngest girl of a family of seven. Carol was the mother of four: Barbara Jones (Tharron, Sey-Gap, Colt, Edward, Sa-Air), Victor Jones, Tom “PacMan” Jones (Jeremiah Morrisette) and Rose Wilson (Clifford, Alexander, Elizabeth). To many she was known as “Auntie Carol,” whether by blood or love. She was the auntie that held you up in rough times, scolded you when you needed direction, celebrated your triumphs and wiped your tears,

As a child, she attended Shaker church and identified as a 1910 Shaker. While her home church was in Pec-Wan, she visited Shaker churches in Oregon, Washington and even Canada. She held the childhood memories attending church with her aunt Rhea and many others.

Growing up in the Pec-Wan area and trying to keep up with older brothers she learned to work on cars, cut wood and wrestle with the best of them.

The three things she was most proud of was her family, being Yurok and, most importantly, being a Shaker.

Carol liked to spend her time with family and friends. She enjoyed teaching others, working on her baskets, beading and making quilts

Carol was preceded in death by her grandparents Fred Charles and Delbert and Marie Wilson, her parents Carl Wilson Sr. and Mary Charles, her siblings Samual Peters, Kathy Sherman, William “Fish Camp Bill” Wilson; her son Tom “Pac-man” Jones; her grandsons Tony Ray Jones and and Tom Jones Jr.; and granddaughter Ava Jones. Rheathema and Clarance Young. Nolan and Betty Phillips.
