Frances Irene Bagley passed away June 20, 2020 at the age of 79.

She was born March 25, 1941 to Harold Arthur Smith and Hattie Irene (Amen) Smith in Fortuna, the fifteenth child of sixteen. She met and married Lincoln Doyle Shields in 1958. Together they had two boys, Eddie and Dale. In 1962 she met and married Carl Bagley and together they had one son, Lyn.

Frances enjoyed picking blackberries every year so that she could fill her freezer with blackberry pies and have a cabinet full of homemade jelly. She never missed a Clint Eastwood movie, her favorite being The Good, the Bad and the Ugly. When her boys were young she was always taking them to the movies and the skating rink. She just enjoyed being a part of whatever activity her boys were involved in. She loved her family very much, and was always there for them. She was always willing to go above and beyond to help people. She will be greatly missed.

Frances worked at Pacific Lumber Company for 40 years. She enjoyed the many people she worked with and whom she became great friends with. She always looked forward to the lunchroom conversations. She enjoyed having a nice fast car and so of course she liked racing the guys home from work. She was always a very dedicated hard worker.

Frances is survived by her sons, Eddie Shields (Sandy), Dale Bagley and Lyn Bagley. Grandchildren, Shayla Verbich, Shaun Bagley, Skylur Bagley, Shelsey McDonald (aka Charlie), Ryan Shields and Melissa Anderson. Great grandchildren, Dylan Verbich, Braydan Verbich and Kolby Bagley. Brothers, Clifford, Ferris and Vernon Smith and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents Harold Arthur Smith and Hattie Irene Smith, one sister and eleven brothers, husband Carl Bagley and daughter-in-law Sherry McDonald.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Cathy Fry, who has always been there for mom. Mom always enjoyed their visits and looked forward to talking to Cathy on the phone. Mom requested no service. She did say that if anyone felt the need to do something, that she would ask that they do something nice for someone who needs it.
