On June 17, 2020, deputies with the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office Marijuana Enforcement Team (MET) served two search warrants to investigate illegal cannabis cultivation in the Blocksburg area. The California Department of Fish and Wildlife and Humboldt County Code Enforcement assisted in the service of the warrants.
Two parcels were investigated during the service of the warrant. One parcel did not possess the required county permit and state license to cultivate cannabis commercially. The second parcel did not possess the required state license to cultivate cannabis commercially.
During the service of the warrant at the first parcel, deputies eradicated approximately 1,983 growing cannabis plants. Deputies seized and destroyed approximately 246 pounds of cannabis bud and 36 pounds of cannabis shake. Deputies also located water diversion and water pollution violations at the parcel.
During the service of the warrant at the second parcel, deputies eradicated approximately 4,164 growing cannabis plants. Deputies seized and destroyed approximately 122 pounds of packaged cannabis bud, 75 pounds of concentrated cannabis oil, 28 pounds of marijuana keef, and 42 pounds of marijuana trim.
One subject was cited for charges of illegal cannabis cultivation, possession of cannabis for sales and child endangerment.
On June 17, deputies also assisted a property owner in the Blocksburg area with eradicating a trespass grow.
