Jodi D. Spahr passed in January 2020 at the age of 55. Jodi was a colorful, bright, worldly soul and we enjoyed the short time she was with us in the Henderson Center Community in Eureka. She was a writer, animal lover and devoted companion.
Jodi was a member of the First United Methodist Church on Del Norte Street.
She enjoyed walking around Eureka, frequently shopping close to home in Henderson Center. She was always adorned in her best Humboldt attire of tie-dye, bright colors, a baseball cap, and sunglasses.
Jodi chose Eureka as her new home after devoting many years to caring for her Uncle James Gibson in Culver City. She helped him to enjoy his sunset years and he passed away at the age of 103 on March 22, 2019. Because of Jodi he was able to remain in his home until his death.
Jodi is survived by her cousin Jim Gibson and his wife Susan of Virginia. She was so proud of him and really enjoyed sharing how much she cared for her cousin.
We were grateful to know her and call her friend. She will be missed.
