A Ferndale native was among the 25 people killed by a destructive series of tornados that ripped through the Nashville area early Tuesday morning.
Ferndale High School grad Michael William Dolfini and his partner Albree Sexton, 33, were named as victims by Tennessee officials yesterday.
According to the Nashville Scene the couple was fleeing the Attaboy bar in East Nashville where Dolfini worked when they were fatally struck by flying debris.
“The two attempted to run for their car, but Sexton was struck by debris and killed,” the Scene reports. “Dolfini died later at Skyline Medical Center.”
Ferndale High School staff confirmed with the Outpost this morning that Dolfini was homecoming king in 2000 and was part of the graduating class of 2001.
According to a Facebook event, the couple moved from Chico to Nashville in 2018.
Many people have taken to Facebook to remember the young couple, specifically on Dolfini’s Facebook page, which is publicly viewable.
