Press release from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office:

The Humboldt County Correctional Facility (HCCF) will resume non-contact inmate visitation on Monday, May 18.

The facility will be implementing several precautionary measures to ensure the health and safety of inmates and visitors, including frequent cleaning of visitation booths, decreasing the number of visitations and visitors permitted at one time and following all state and local orders regarding social distancing and facial coverings.

“We recognize the importance of visitation for the well-being of our incarcerated population,” HCCF Administrative Sergeant Delia Garcia said. “We are happy to be able to once again provide this resource to inmates so they can continue to connect with loved ones during this challenging time.”

As part of the new safety measures being implemented, a limit of four inmates and no more than two visitors per inmate will be allowed per visitation session for social distancing purposes. Hand sanitizer will be available in the public visitation lobby and a disinfectant wipe will be offered to visitors to take with them to their visit. All visitation booths will be cleaned following each session. Additionally, all visitors will be required to wear a facial covering in compliance with the Humboldt County Health Officer’s Facial Coverings Order.

The Humboldt County Correctional Facility offers multiple visitation sessions per day. Visitors are asked to arrive at the facility a half-hour early in order to secure a spot during the session of their choice. The facility is unable to accommodate phone reservations for visitation sessions at this time. The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the community for their patience and understanding as we work to ensure the safety of our incarcerated population during these unprecedented times.
