Neoma
went to be with her Lord on May 16, 2020 at: 1:15 am.
She was 96 years of age. Beside her at her passing were her three children, James C. Ray, Gary L. Ray and Carolyn Ann Vance.
Neoma was born September 11, 1923 at Keota, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Walter C. Ray. Neoma and Walter were married in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. The moved to California in 1953. They owned a gas station , and later the Covered Wagon Trading Post and R & W Camper Sales. Neoma also worked as a cashier at Murphy’s Market in McKinleyville and she also worked at the Surprise Bulb Farm. Neoma also enjoyed the Craft Group at the McKinleyville Senior Center and the Ladies Craft Group at North Fork Full Gospel Community Church. She loved sewing, crocheting and making quilts and baby blankets for her grandchildren and others. She will be truly missed by everyone who knew her.
She is survived by her children, James Ray, Gary Ray and Carolyn Vance. “Nana” leaves behind numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She loved each and every one of them.
The family would like to thank everyone who helped take care of her during the last few months and weeks of her life. Her friends, her care providers from Visiting Angels and Hospice.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
