Press release from the Eureka Police Department:

On May 20, 2020, at about 7:38 p.m., officers with the Eureka Police Department responded to the 4000 block of Campton Rd. in Eureka for the report of male found deceased alone in his home by a family member. It was immediately clear the death was suspicious and detectives and evidence technicians responded to process the scene.

Next of kin has been notified and the male has been identified as 84-year-old Roger Mitchell Clark. Roger was more commonly was known as “Mitch.” An autopsy will be scheduled for later this week. This case is being investigated as a homicide and it is an active and ongoing investigation.

Further information will be released as appropriate. No suspect(s) have been identified at this time.
