Jim lost his battle to cancer in the early morning hours of October 1, 2020, with his wife, Donna, and kids holding his hands.

Jim met his wife Donna in 1996. They spent 23 years together.

Jim suffered from a stroke in 2018 after was able to maintain life with the help of his family and doctors Rebeca Morris of the VA and Dr. Allen Matthew. Jim loved his Mad River Adult Day family as well as his Mad River Home Health family. A special that you to his home health Nurse Loretta, who stood by our side every step of the way over the last three years. We made a lifelong friend.

Jim never met a stranger. He had a love for fishing, hunting, playing guitar, family time, saving money. But most of all being a papa to his eight grandchildren.

Jim had a heart of gold. If you hand a chance to meet him, he would have stolen your heart. And you would have made a lifelong friend. Jim was a true friend, always making sure that the people around him were taken care of. People would say his smile could light up a room. Our lives took a loss when he made his exit however, we gained our angel. “I am finally going to catch me that big one” — Jim

One of Jim’s last words of wisdom: When asked if he had unfinished business, his reply was “No, I have experienced life dirt poor, I have experienced life with money, I have experienced life fighting for it, and now I am experiencing life losing it. In the end all the mattered were the people around me.”

Jim precedes in death his mom, Ellen, dad, Levi (Sid), brother Bud.
