It’s with heavy hearts our family announces the passing of Barbara Deckert. She left this world to be with the Lord on October 12, 2020 at 78 years old, in Eureka.

Barbara was preceded in death by her biological father Henery Patterson, stepfather Clyde Patterson, mother Irene Patterson and twin sisters Loretta and Heneryetta Patterson.

People would know her to be a warm woman with a heart of gold, ready to help anyone in need. If someone was hungry, she fed them. If you needed new shoes, she’d reach out in the community and find you a pair. If there’s wasn’t enough for everyone, it would be put away. She looked out for others.

Barbara is survived and will be forever missed by her husband Clinton Deckert, brother James Patterson, three children Donna Maxwell, Terri Jones and Tim Holt Sr, eleven grandchildren Shannon Filgas, John Maxwell, Jennifer Maxwell, Donny Holbrooks, Amanda Flesher, Randall Flesher, Jeremiah Jones, Brittany Jones, Tim Holt Jr, James Holt and Rebecca Newman, four great grandchildren Jessica Hellyer, Kassidy Hellyer, Sophia Newman and Sean Maxwell. Barbara will also be remembered by her lifelong friends Connie, Janice, Suzie and Carla, whom she worked with until her retirement, at Maggie’s Burger Bar in McKinleyville.

Services will be held by Reverend James Hearn on Thursday October 22nd 2020 at Greenwood Cemetery - Redwood Chapel in Arcata. A viewing will be held from 12-1 p.m.

Funeral services begin at 1:30 p.m.

Flowers, photos and condolences can be sent to Greenwood Cemetery Arcata, CA 95521.
