Mendocino County blogger Paul McCarthy of Mendocinosportsplus has died, his family announced on Facebook yesterday.

McCarthy’s beloved news blog had more than 27,000 Facebook followers thanks to the informative, interesting and wonderfully weird posts that he shared daily.

“Thank you for your support and your interactions with my Father,” his son Shane McCarthy shared on social media. “He loved the coast and MSP gave him purpose and joy connecting with you all.” 

McCarthy seems to have passed unexpectedly Friday night, based on his son’s Facebook post.
