EXPANDED EVACUATION WARNING AREA.

The Hopkins Fire Evacuation Warning area for Humboldt County has been expanded to include all areas west of Bell Springs Road to Highway 101 spanning from Elk Creek Road / Dyerville Loop Road to the Mendocino / Trinity County Line.

This is a correction to the press release issued at 3:22 P.M. on September 9, 2020 regarding wildfire evacuation routes for Southern Humboldt County. In the initial release, it was reported that Barnun Road was a viable route for those under mandatory evacuation for the areas south of Highway 36 in Bridgeville, and all communities along Alderpoint Road down to the Mendocino / Trinity County Line. Barnum Road is NOT a viable evacuation route from the wildfires as it is not a public road. Please continue to utilize Elk Creek Road, Dyerville Loop Road, Fort Seward Road or Alderpoint Road.

Due to rapidly evolving wildfire conditions related to the Hopkins Fire, the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office of Emergency Services has issued an evacuation order and evacuation warning for portions of Humboldt County in preparation of imminent wildfire progression into Southern Humboldt County.  

A dedicated Humboldt County Wildfire Evacuation Information Line has been established to assist community members with questions related to the Hopkins Fire and its impacts on Humboldt County.
