Press release from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office:

On April 19, 2021, at about 8 p.m., Humboldt County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a residence on the 2200 block of North Bank Road in McKinleyville for the report of a gunshot victim.

Deputies arrived at the residence but were unable to locate the victim. While investigating further, deputies were notified that the victim, a 26-year-old male, had arrived at a local hospital through private transportation with a gunshot wound to his leg. The victim was unable to identify a suspect or provide additional information to deputies.

This case is still under investigation. No further information is available at this time.
