Some refugees from the large fires to our east — the Dixie Fire, the Monunent Fire, the McFarland Fire and others — are making their way to the coast.

The American Red Cross writes to let us know that they’ve set up an overnight shelter for people escaping these fires at Fortuna’s Fireman’s Pavilion, in the city’s Rohner Park. If you’re escaping the fires and you have nowhere else to be, this is where you want to go.

Displaced from the fires, but not in Humboldt County? The California Office of Emergency Services is keeping a current list of evacuation shelters around the state at this link.
