Derek Louis Radcliffe
Born August 28, 1980
Died December 18, 2020 at 40 years of age, due to an unfortunate accident.

Derek was born in Fort Bragg. He was raised in Arcata. Derek attended Arcata Christian School and local public schools. He attended Canyonville Bible Academy for High School. Derek enjoyed going to CBA, making many friends. Derek participated in cross country. He loved his time there.

After high school Derek worked in his dad’s locksmith shop in Eureka. Derek joined the United States Air Force and entered the tough training to become a pararescue man. He learned how to sky-dive with a 100-pound pack on his back. He took E.M.T training in New York City. Derek served as a combat medic in Iraq. After six years in the service he returned a Wounded Warrior.

Derek met a very special lady and girlfriend Alyssa Bravo. They shared many special moments together.

Derek comes from a large family who loved him dearly. Derek liked jokes and laughter and almost always had a big smile on his face. He was so good to his family and everyone he met. If You ever received money or clothing from a stranger, you met Derek. He was a very generous and kind man.

Derek leaves his father, Robert Radcliffe of Fortuna, and his mother, Debbie Flenniken (Paul Flenniken) of Klamath, Oregon; grandmothers Peggy Radcliffe of Fortuna and grandmother Peggy Evans of Chico; his sister Marissa Love and her children Devon, Adrianna and Joselyn of Moreno valley; aunts Susan Radcliffe (Paul Greene), Danelle Radcliffe, Michele Radcliffe’ uncle Virgil Green; uncle Shawn Lobina and his family; aunts Darlene Lobina, Donna Lobina, Serena Lobina.

Derek was preceded in death by his grandfather Burse Radcliffe Sr, grandfather Louis Lobina, uncle Ross Radcliffe Jr., cousin Robbie Lasinski. Derek also leaves behind many cousins who greatly loved him. All of Derek’s family will greatly miss him.
