Jens Stefan Reinhart

Jens (pronounced Yence) was a kind and caring soul who did not branch out in the social world, but for those of us who knew him, were always greeted with a genuinely warm “hallo.”

Jens grew up in Germany, born to Ekkehard and Leonore, and while he enjoyed his small town in Germany, his grasp of computers took him to England, where he lived until he emigrated to Humboldt to be with his wife in 2011. Jens and Emily (surviving wife) met each other online through a mutual art forum, complimenting and critiquing each other’s works.

While Jens greatly supported his wife’s traditional art, his art focused on digital creations of space and nebulae, often including rendered and textured sci-fi ships and alternate perspectives from favorite sci-fi scenes. Jens was one of our fellow nerds, working in IT since his late teens; he was always looked to for answers, well before someone turned to the Internet. Jens had a unique sense of humour, one that only a fellow computer nerd could appreciate, and will be truly missed. Though time is not linear in our minds, the art, sci-fi, and IT worlds have lost an irreplaceable gem.
