Gerald Martin Carlson
April 16, 1946 - May 14, 2021
Pops left the building after one hell of a 75-year show. Those of us who were fortunate enough to have played a part in his movie are feeling a tremendous loss, for he was a character that we all loved to see enter the room. He had a way of making connections out of small conversations and throughout the years forged friendships that made everyone into family. In retrospect, I think the most beautiful part of his life was how many people he united through his uncanny quirkiness.
“Oh … sure, I know Jerry!”
I’ve seen many life-long relationships start with those exact words. He was a good mood waiting to happen and he found pleasure in making people smile . The hardest part for me personally has been seeing so many of his folks hurting since he passed. He loved each and everyone of you the same … with all his heart.
I could crash the memory chip on a NASA supercomputer telling stories and naming names of those who impacted his life. I’m sorry that I don’t have the strength to finish a proper obituary.
He is survived by all of you because he considered all of you family.
Funeral arrangements are out of my hands and I’m planning on something for June 22.
