Sam Nicholls passed away suddenly on February 3 in Blue Lake. He was born on November 4, 1958 and raised in Healdsburg. He graduated from Healdsburg High School in 1976 and attended Humboldt State University.

Sam worked at Safeway in McKinleyville and retired after 23 years. He also worked with his father in Nicholls Trucking, the family business.

He was predeceased by his parents Jack and Bernice Nicholls. He is survived by his husband Earl Thomason and his brothers John and Jim Nicholls. He also left Savannah Rose, his beloved Jack Russell.

Sam was one of the most generous, non-judgmental, and loving human beings you could ever meet and he will greatly be missed.
